A Quick Sketch

I hope everyone wished their mom a happy mother's day! I sure did! My mom means the world to me. She's my best friend that I go to for everything. She's always encouraging, supportive, loving, cheerful, helpful and so much more! I could go on and on!
Now to my post. We have had a ton of rain down here in North Carolina. After hours of reading I was getting pretty bored. So, I do what I always do when I don't want to read or watch TV. I pull out my sketch book.

What's your favorite thing to draw? I love to sketch eyes and hair. Eyes tell a lot about a person. You can really see someone's emotions just looking at their eyes. Hair is also fun to draw. It's really freeing. I always tell people that you can never mess up with hair because if you make a mistake you can easily hide it.

While I am waiting for the next book in the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay, to come in I'm rereading The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Awhile back I had wanted to read the series The Books Of Bayern, but I sort of forgot about them. Oops! OF COURSE I just HAD to go back and read the first book again just to catch up on all the fun.

I am absolutely devastated! As SOON as The Trials Of Apollo came out I IMMEDIATELY went onto the library website to request the book. That means I ask the library to hold the book for me. Sadly I am number 143 in line. -.- I am REALLY considering just buying it, but I'm not the kind of person to just go out and buy a book. I prefer to request them from the library and when I'm done give them back. Oh well, that's just me. I hope y'all have a great day! 

Book Review: Boston Jane An Adventure

Hello fellow bloggers, I am so sorry that I haven't been very active. I really needed a break from blogging, but I am happy to say that I am back!
Down here in North Carolina it's a pretty dreary day. Thunder booming, rain poring, sounds like a perfect kind of day to read a book, watch a movie, and do some blogging. I just finished reading Boston Jane An Adventure by Jennifer L. Holm.

Now I usually only write reviews for books that I go crazy over, but I decided to change it up a bit. Boston Jane An Adventure wasn't really the best book. I would give it about 3 out of 5 stars. There wasn't really a plot which was kind of disappointing. The protagonist started out like a sweet little girl and turned into a shallow young lady. Jane, the protagonist, wants to fit into Philadelphia's society and become a proper young lady. When William Baldt, the handsome young apprentice, proposes she accepts and prepares to join him wilds of the Pacific Northwest. Of course this is no place for a lady. After months at sea it takes to get there she realizes that this rough life has a few shocking surprises in store. This would be a great book for the ages 10+, but I don't think older teens would enjoy this book as much. But of course I'm going to finish the trilogy because I have to find out what happens at the end. 

On a different note is anyone from the PJO fandom excited about THE TRIALS OF APOLLO!?!? Has anyone read it yet? I haven't. I can't decide if I want to wait for the library to have it or buy it. I'm not the book buying type I usually just request them from the library, but this might have to be an exception.
